AEP WRESTLING
Zack Hernandez is a Division 1 NCAA championship level wrestler, black belt in Judo, and brown belt in Jiu-jitsu. He is a D1 NCAA Championship Qualifier and former captain of the wrestling team at Columbia University.
AEP Combat Sports specializes in elite wrestling and performance for combat athletes. At Columbia, Zack racked up many big wins over many top D1 Wrestlers including a D1 197 lbs NCAA champion. He is still active as a jiu-jitsu competitor and elite wrestling coach on Oahu.
Kahala Backyard offers Personal Training, Health Seminarsa Wrestling, Wrestle-Jitsu, and Recovery.
Located in Kahala, AEP is the only top level wrestling program on this side of the island.
Coach Zack works with 5 yr ages and up with 2 focuses.
Teach Wrestling to all ages and prep them for High School and College Careers.

Punahou: Was a two-time HHSAA state champion at 189 pounds, winning the state title at that weight in 2011 and 2012 ... State runner-up at 152 pounds (2010) ... Helped lead team to four consecutlve state titles ... As a junior in 2010-11, he went undefeated, pinned all but three opponents and allowed only one takedown against him ... Compiled a 101-8 career record with 81 pins ... Went 54-0 wit 51 pins in junior and senior seasons ... Went 10-1 with eight pins at The Clash National Duals in Rochester ... Was also an outstanding football player, earning second-team all-state honors as a senior linebacker.
College: Full ride scholarship at DIV 1 Columbia University
Personal: Son of Brenda and Darren Hernandez ... Mother, Brenda, ran cross country at Harvard ... father, Darren, played football at the University of Hawaii ... Great Grandfather Yukio Nishimura is in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame ... Younger sister, Zoe, is an outfielder on the Cornell softball team and a former state champion wrestler.
